Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Oasis Academy Ryelands

It is a privilege to welcome you to our website and give you a flavour of our inclusive school.

I feel extremely proud to be the Principal at this rapidly improving school which is now Ofsted rated Good with Outstanding features for leadership and management and personal development and behaviour. Our academy is a caring, thriving place which truly lives up to our I CARE Vision of Inclusion, Community, Aspiration, Resilience and Enjoyment.

We are at the heart of our community and care about the provision we offer all our pupils. From Nursery to Year 6, each child has the benefit of staff dedicated to encouraging them along the journey of learning and discovery, within the security of a caring atmosphere where all staff in partnership with parents and carers work together. Our link with parents and carers is fundamental. We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website where we have tried to include as much information as possible. If there is any information that you are unable to find or you would like to visit the Academy please contact the Academy Office directly on 0208 656 4165 or email office@oasisryelands.org.

Oasis Academy Ryelands is a happy, calm and friendly community school where the success of every child really matters.

Thank you for visiting our website and we look forward to welcoming you soon.

Welcome from our Head Pupils

Hello, my name is Ethan and I am Head Boy at Oasis Academy Ryelands. I think it would be a great decision for your child to join our school. I myself have been a member of the Oasis community since reception and I really think it is an amazing school for your child’s learning. Here at Ryelands, we offer a wide variety of clubs before and after school, including sports, art, sewing, movie, guitar and chess club. Every child from Reception and above is provided with a school iPad for educational use. We have subscriptions to Sumdog and Maths Shed, a fun maths platform, also Spelling Shed and Phonics Shed, grammar and spelling platforms. Our teachers are always there to help, they are kind and helpful with students making sure everyone can reach their full potential.

At lunch time our chefs cook a nutritious lunch including a main, a side and a dessert. Of course, packed lunches are also welcomed (healthy please!!)

At Ryelands we have our Oasis 9 Habits that the children are encouraged to follow. They are being joyful, forgiving, considerate, compassionate, hopeful, honest, humble, patient and self-controlled. If your child follows these habits, they will be noticed by their teachers and may be given a ‘habit’ badge in Friday assembly. We also have something we call ‘pupil choice’, where a child can choose another child to award a badge to.

Personally, I believe everything about this school is amazing and the teachers are lovely and try to push you to do your very best. - Ethan, Head Boy

Hello, my name is Niyah. I am head girl at Oasis Academy Ryelands and it would be a pleasure for your child to join our school. In our school all pupils are treated fairly. Our pupils’ needs are matched and dealt with by the staff. The staff at our school are dedicated to pushing us forward to be our best selves. I think we can definitely say that Oasis Academy Ryelands has a lot to offer! We have a sports coach who teaches us PE once a week; we have many roles for our pupils including Academy MPs (Members of Parliament), Sports leaders and Physical Health Champions, Wellbeing Champions, Digital Leaders, Eco Champions and our Mini SLT (Student Leadership Team which is reserved for Year 6). These leadership opportunities give children at our school independence and self-determination. The teachers at our school our absolutely fantastic, they make learning fun and effective. Our school organises many educational visits, for example trips to Chessington World of Adventures, Kew Gardens, the British Museum, local trips to South Norwood Country Park and also residential trips in Years 4 and Year 6.

I think it’s safe to say this school helps you show your true personality and be confident in yourself. Our school doesn’t tolerate bullying whatsoever. Staff are quick at resolving issues that may occur, no matter what. I hope that future pupils have the amazing experiences with the caring and supportive staff that I have had. - Niyah, Head Girl
