On World Mental Health Day, staff and pupils at Oasis Academy Ryelands wore yellow and donated money towards the charity Young Minds to help raise awareness for children’s mental health.
On World Mental Health Day, Monday, 10th October, we wore yellow to show young people that how they feel matters. It was a fantastic turn out! We managed to raise a whopping £259, so well done to everyone who participated and donated £1 to Young Minds, the children's Mental Health charity that we support. The children enjoyed completing their challenges set for the day and encouraged people to smile and laugh all day long!
However you are feeling, it matters. We want you to know that you’re not alone with your mental health. By us all wearing yellow, we showed our support not just to Young Minds, the charity we raised money for, but for our own children here at Ryelands, to show that mental health is important and that no child is alone.
Together we are stronger.
The more we talk about our mental health, the easier it will become.
